King James III of Scotland

Fifth Stuart Monarch: 1449 - 1460

James III was eight when crowned and took the throne in 1469 when he came of age. He was unpopular.  He supported the alliance with England and failed to win the loyalty of his people which resulted in two rebellions. Some say he died in the Battle of Sauchieburn fighting Scottish nobles others say he was captured and killed.
