King James II of Scotland
Fourth Stuart Monarch: 1437 - 1449
After the assassination of James I in 1437 his only surviving son was crowned, at the age of six though did not take the throne until he was eighteen. He ruled as James II, the fourth Stewart monarch and had a penchant for modern artillery and was successful in battles. In 1460, standing too close to a cannon he had bought from Flanders, he died in an unfortunate accident.
